- Teaching focus in American history, government, civics, or the Constitution
- Committment to teaching history upon graduation
- Committment to attending the included summer program
Application Process
- Register online and complete the application, including:
- Several brief essays
- Work history
- Academic transcripts
- 3 recommenders' contact information
- Submit your application in advance of the deadline
- Follow up with recommenders to ensure their letters are submitted in advance of the deadline
- If selected as a recipient, follow all guidelines to maintain the award
Applicants compete in a pool of other applicants from their residence state, rather than the entire nationwide cohort of applicants.
