Scholarship Description

The Johnathan T. Leonard Memorial Scholarship is a financial award for an undergraduate student majoring in education or architecture, or an individual with undergraduate degree pursuing alternative method for teacher certification. Additional consideration will be given to continuing education undergraduate students who are underrepresented minorities in the field of education as well as low socio-economic status students.


1. Be at least 21 years of age. 2. Education or Architecture major 3. If major is education, goal must be to teach 4. A GPA of at least a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for all prior college credit 5. Non-traditional students and those from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply

The following must be attached to your completed application:

1. Transcripts 2. A listing of other scholarships, awards and grants with amounts of each (indicate if none) 3. Two reference letters 4. A resume 5. An essay on how you relate to Jonathan T. Leonard as a "non-traditional" student in 500 words maximum 6. If transferring, an acceptance letter from the new school Scholarship Search
