Scholarship Description

In the fall of 2024, Johns Hopkins began offering full cost of attendance (COA) financial aid packages (including tuition, living expenses and fees) for medical students whose families earn less than $175,000. Additionally, families earning less than $300,000 receive scholarships that cover the cost of tuition.

Scholarship Details

  • Full Cost of Attendance (COA) Coverage: Available to students whose families earn less than $175,000 annually. This includes tuition, fees, and living expenses.
  • Full Tuition Scholarships: Provided to students whose families earn less than $300,000 annually.
  • Additional need-based institutional and federal aid is available for those who do not meet the COA or tuition scholarship thresholds.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be admitted to the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine M.D. program
  • Family income must fall within the qualifying income brackets to be considered for full COA or full tuition coverage
  • Students must apply for financial aid to be considered for scholarships

Application Process

  1. Complete the CSS Profile through the College Board to apply for institutional aid (recommended for scholarship consideration)
  2. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for federal aid eligibility
  3. Admitted students who do not complete their financial aid application by the deadline will not receive an aid determination with their admissions offer
  4. Check the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine website for exact deadlines and submission portals

Applicants for institutional scholarship support are encouraged to complete the CSS Profile by the deadline to ensure determination of funding eligibility. Applicants who are admitted and have not yet completed their financial aid application will not receive their aid determination with their admissions decision.
