Scholarship Description

The Women’s Division of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans offers multiple scholarships to graduating high school females of Italian heritage who plan to continue their education after graduation. The scholarships recognize students who demonstrate achievement, need, and a commitment to their future.

Scholarship Details

  • Applicants must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, or an accredited vocational or technical school
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required
  • Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Scholarship Benefit Fashion Show and must attend to accept the award

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have at least one parent of Italian descent
  • Must be a high school senior
  • Must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited institution of higher education or a vocational program

Application Process

  1. Complete and sign the scholarship application, answering all questions; attach additional pages if more space is needed
  2. Include an official copy of your current high school transcript
  3. Obtain two letters of recommendation from individuals who are not family members and can speak to your character, motivation, strengths, and potential
  4. Submit your ACT or SAT scores
  5. Write an essay describing your Italian ancestry and explaining why you are proud of your heritage
  6. Include a small photo of yourself
  7. Attach all required documents to your application before submitting it
