The Jon Yi Education Scholarship was established in 2018 and awards $1,000 to one high school senior enrolling in a Texas-based post secondary educational institution (University, College, or Trade School) pursuing a two or four year degree.
Scholarship Details
- One scholarship is awarded annually

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a graduating high school senior
- Must plan to enroll at a Texas-based university, college, or trade school
- Must pursue a two-year or four-year degree or educational program
- Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Selection is based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement
- Must submit all required application materials
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application during the application period
- Submit the required scholarship essay
- If selected as a finalist, provide proof of college acceptance or enrollment
- Submit an official high school transcript
- Optionally include a resume or curriculum vitae highlighting achievements and activities
- Verify that all required materials have been submitted before July 24th
Jon Yi is a former student of Texas A&M University. As a recipient of seven various scholarships throughout his educational career, Jon holds strong precedence in the value and significance of financial support in post secondary education. The humbling opportunity given as others invested in his education was a rewarding experience, thus drove motivation to reciprocate his gratitude by creating his own scholarship.
