The JWV-MI -- Kaye Foundation promotes post-secondary school education of Michigan residents who identify as Jewish, are currently serving in the US Armed Forces (to include active duty, active duty for training, current membership in National Guard or any Reserve Component, or contracted through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) to complete all requirements to receive a commision), are honorably discharged veterans of any component of the uniformed services of the USA (ie: US Army, US Marine Corps, US Navy, US Air Force, US Space Force, or US Coast Guard), or are lineal descendants of Jewish veterans.
Scholarship Details
- Recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to service
- At least one $2,500 scholarship for a student attending a four-year degree-producing college
- At least one $2,500 scholarship for a student attending an accredited trade, vocational, or community college program
- One $1,000 scholarship for a Michigan Jewish high school senior attending a four-year college or university
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Michigan resident who identifies as Jewish
- Must be currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, an honorably discharged veteran, contracted through ROTC, or a lineal descendant of a Jewish veteran
- Must be accepted by and committed to attend an eligible four-year college or accredited trade or vocational program
- Trade or vocational programs must be accredited by the Council on Occupational Education
- Must maintain academic standards at the institution receiving scholarship funds
Application Process
- Confirm eligibility as a Michigan Jewish student with qualifying military service or lineage
- Secure acceptance and commitment to an eligible four-year college or accredited trade or vocational program
- Application deadline is April 30th, with notifications by June 15th and announcements by June 30th
The JWV-MI Kaye Foundation Scholarships recognize academic and leadership excellence among Jewish students, encourage commitment to and service in the Nation’s armed forces, and encourage membership in the Department of Michigan of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America.
