The Kafi Foundry Foundation (KFF) Scholarship is our flagship program designed to support and develop the next generation of economically literate, globally minded leaders. This scholarship was established in 2025 to honor Economics Professor Farhoud Kafi and his 50-year legacy of promoting access to education, economic literacy, and community empowerment.
Scholarship Details
- Four scholarships awarded
- Up to $5,000 per recipient
- Non-renewable, but students may reapply if eligible
- Funds are paid directly to the recipient’s college financial aid office
Eligibility Criteria
- Must attend a four-year college or university in New England or New York
- Must pursue a bachelor’s degree in economics, business, or a related field
- High school applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.3. College applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Application Process
- Complete and submit the application form.
- Write and submit two essays (maximum 500 words each).
- Upload required documents, including FAFSA Submission Summary, academic transcripts, and a résumé.
- Arrange for two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher and one from an employer or community reference).
- Be available for a possible phone or video interview.
- Ensure all materials are submitted by May 31st at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
The KFF Scholarship intends to support four students with financial need who plan to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics or related field at a New England and/or New York-based college or university.
