K’impact was created in 2021 to continue the legacy of our family member, friend, and inspiration, Kim Cassano, who we lost in June 2021 to lung cancer. K’impact is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit and provides financial assistance to a broad variety of initiatives, both lung cancer related, and non-lung cancer related.
Scholarship Details
- Two grants of $3,000 each
- Grants can be used at the recipient’s discretion
- Recipients will be featured on the Kimpact Foundation website and social media affiliates
- One grant for passion-driven projects
- One grant for cancer survivors or individuals nominating a cancer survivor
- Applicants may only apply for one grant
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia
- Must be 17 or older at the time of entry
- For the Passion Award:
- Enrolled in an accredited university for the current and/or coming school year
- Or a graduate paying back student loans
- For the Survivor Award:
- Applicant or nominee must be in complete remission from cancer
- Self-nominations and nominations of others are accepted
Application Process
- Choose one grant (Passion or Survivor) to apply for
- Respond to the appropriate prompt in essay, film, or recorded song/poetry form
- Essay: maximum of 500 words
- Film or recorded song/poetry: maximum of 5 minutes
- If the multimedia file is too large, email us for assistance
- Submit applications between March 1st and the posted deadline
- Winners will be notified by September 25th
