Scholarship Description

The Lantos Foundation for Human Rights & Justice is proud to offer this scholarship opportunity to New Hampshire high school seniors with an interest in human rights and activism through the arts. The Activist Artist Scholarship was launched as an annual competition dedicated to the work of Activist Artists all over the world. All applicants will be challenged to examine the influence of a particular Activist Artist and show how that artist used his/her medium to influence, inform and inspire during their lifetime or beyond.

We encourage applicants to examine the influence of a particular Activist Artist and write a 600-1,000 word essay that shows how that artist used their medium to influence, inform, and inspire action on human rights during their lifetime or beyond. We have provided an example of an essay submission. The number of scholarships awarded depends on the pool of applicants each round, but runner-ups will receive $2,500, and the winner will get $5,000.
