The Latino Social Work Coalition provides scholarships to Latino/x/e and bilingual students with significant economic need who are entering their 2nd or 3rd year pursuing a master’s degree in social work (this includes advanced standing, OYR, extended students). Eligible applicants must have ties to New York City.
In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit: a transcript; two letters of recommendation; a resume, bio and recent headshot or photo (not selfies); and a personal statement (a 1,000-word [maximum] essay describing future career aspirations and interests in the social work field, particularly your desire work in Latino or traditionally under-resourced communities). Participation in LSWC ancillary programs and events, recruiting and fundraising events, etc. is highly encouraged to support your professional development.
