The University of Nebraska, together with the Peter Kiewit Foundation, will present 50 Legacy Scholarships to Nebraska high school seniors. Each scholarship has a maximum four-year value of $30,000. These scholarships are made possible by the personal generosity of the late Peter Kiewit. Mr. Kiewit was a lifelong Omahan, civic leader and philanthropist. Scholars receive a $600 book stipend every semester toward their textbooks and supplies at the University Bookstore and $500 toward professional business attire. Additionally, students can receive up to $5000 in a professional development stipend that can be used for opportunities such as conferences, education abroad, internship travel expenses, etc.
Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
• Be admitted to the College of Engineering in Lincoln (City Campus) or Omaha (Scott Campus)
• Be a Nebraska resident
• Submit the FAFSA or alternative need analysis form (alternative form linked in application) to be considered for the program
• Be traditional first-year incoming freshmen
• Demonstrate their interest and commitment to the advancement of women in the field of engineering
