The Lift Up Our Voices Scholarship aims to increase representation of women-identifying students and students of color in music composition. This $3,500 Founders scholarship supports talented, diverse, and aspiring music composition students in achieving their educational goals as they pursue an undergraduate degree in music.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarship Value: $3,500
- Open to female-identifying students and students of color
- For students entering college as full-time undergraduate music majors in the Fall
- Winner selected by a panel of diverse music and composition experts
Eligibility Criteria
- Intent to pursue an undergraduate degree in music composition
- Female-identifying student or student of color
- Entering freshman with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Demonstrated talent in music composition (submission of up to 2 representative works required)
Application Process
- Submit up to two representative musical works showcasing your talent in music composition
- Provide a short biography and a statement of your goals in music composition and how the scholarship will support these goals
- Submit two letters of recommendation (at least one from a music teacher) highlighting your accomplishments and potential in music
- Upload a PDF of your resume, including relevant musical background and any performances of your works (optional)
