Scholarship Details
- Designed to assist students who have lost a close family member or spouse to substance abuse
- Scholarship amount varies depending on available funding
- Open to students enrolled part-time or full-time at a U.S. college or university
- Scholarship is a one-time award; past recipients are not eligible to reapply
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a legal U.S. citizen enrolled in a college or university located in the United States
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Must provide proof of enrollment, such as a class schedule or registration verification that includes the student’s name and ID number
- Must not have received this scholarship previously
- Applicants must hold either U.S. or Canadian citizenship
Application Process
- Complete the Lisa Michelle Memorial Fund Scholarship application form
- Prepare an essay of 800–1500 words including the following:
- Your full name at the top of the essay
- A description of how your loved one passed away and how you coped during that difficult period
- The challenges you faced as a student while dealing with a parent’s or family member’s addiction
- Why you believe you deserve this scholarship
- How receiving this scholarship will positively impact your life and education
- Submit the completed application and essay by the posted deadline
- Await notification from the selection committee regarding scholarship decisions
All submission materials become the property of The Lisa Michelle Memorial Fund and will not be returned to you. If chosen, the recipient will be asked to participate in a written interview to be used on our website.
