Scholarship Description

The Louis T. Fiore Electronic Communications Scholarship was established in October 2022 to honor Mr. Fiore’s significant contributions to the alarm industry and the Alarm Industry Communications Committee (AICC). This scholarship is designed to promote careers in electronic communications. The application period is now open, with a deadline of March 15th. The recipient will be announced in August and formally recognized at the TMA Annual Meeting in October.

Scholarship Details

  • Open to students studying electronic communications or software development related to electronic communications
  • Applicants may be pursuing a degree in electrical engineering or an associate degree in electronics
  • Scholarship will be awarded in August

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be studying an electronics curriculum, specifically electronic communications or software development related to electronic communications
  • Applicants must be pursuing an electrical engineering degree or an associate degree in electronics
  • Open to students in the first year or further along in their studies
  • Applicants must attend a nationally accredited educational institution

Application Process

  1. For first-year students:
    • Submit a letter of acceptance and proof of enrollment
    • Provide an official high school transcript, including GPA
    • List extracurricular activities and any honors received
    • Submit a resume or CV
    • Write an essay (500 words or less) on your passion for electronic communications and your reasons for studying this field
  2. For continuing students:
    • Submit an official transcript from your current educational institution
    • List extracurricular activities and any honors received
    • Submit a resume or CV
    • Write an essay (500 words or less) on your passion for electronic communications and your reasons for studying this field
