The Renee Powell Scholarship will be awarded through The LPGA Foundation and the LPGA Renee Powell Fund. Established in 2022, the Renee Powell Scholarship will provide financial aid to female, Black or African American, high school seniors pursuing a full-time course of study and playing collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.
Scholarship Details

- Open to female, Black or African American high school seniors committed to playing collegiate golf
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be of Black or African-American descent
- High school senior at the time of application
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Committed or in the process of committing to play collegiate golf at an accredited U.S. college or university
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application through The LPGA Foundation
- Submit academic transcripts verifying a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Provide proof of commitment to play collegiate golf
- Include letters of recommendation and documentation of community service
Renee Powell is an American professional golfer who played on the US-based LPGA Tour and is currently head professional at her family’s Clearview Golf Club, the only course designed, built, owned and operated by an African-American. The daughter of golf course entrepreneur Bill Powell, Renee grew up in Ohio and took up golf at an early age. As the second Black player on the LPGA Tour, Renee has dedicated her career to increasing diversity in golf.
