The SevenDays Kindness Scholarship encourages graduating high school seniors in the Kansas City area to create lasting projects that promote kindness and make a positive difference in their communities. Students are challenged to apply one or more of the SevenDays themes to a project that inspires meaningful change. Applications will be evaluated on a variety of criteria.
Scholarship Details
- Five or more scholarships will be awarded
- Each scholarship is worth $1,000 for higher education tuition
- Projects must incorporate one or more of the SevenDays themes of Love, Discover, Others, Connect, You, Go and Onward
- Essays will be evaluated based on the project's community impact, creativity or originality and longevity
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors
- Applicants must be located in the Kansas City metro area
- Applicants must be able to explain how their project creates a ripple effect of kindness and impacts themselves and others.
Application Process
- Develop and complete a kindness project
- Give your project a title that reflects its purpose and impact
- Write an essay answering the required questions, including what your kindness project is, who it serves, what it involves, when it took place, how it creates a ripple effect to change the world, and how that ripple has impacted you and others
- Include up to three photographs and/or one video lasting 30 to 90 seconds to showcase your project
- Submit your completed essay and supporting materials according to the scholarship application instructions
- If selected as a winner, attend the Kindness Breakfast and be prepared to help promote your project through interviews, videos, photographs, local media or other events and activities
