The Mary Hill Davis Ethnic/Minority Scholarship Program provides financial support to Texas Baptist ethnic/minority students pursuing a Christian education. This program is intended to encourage students who plan to serve as future lay or vocational ministry leaders in Texas Baptist ethnic/minority churches.
Scholarship Details
- Maximum award period is two semesters
- Full-time students enrolled in 12 or more hours can receive $1,000 per semester
- Part-time students enrolled in at least 6 hours can receive $500 per semester
- Applications are accepted from January 15th to April 15th each year
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Texas Baptist ethnic/minority students pursuing a bachelor's degree at a Texas Baptist university
- New applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Renewal applicants must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Applicants should intend on becoming future lay and vocational ministry leaders
Application Process
- Obtain the appropriate new or renewal application form
- Complete the application and gather all required supporting documents
- Obtain a recommendation letter from the pastor of your church
- If you are a graduating high school applicant, include your current high school transcript and proof of college acceptance
- If you are a new student already enrolled in college, include your current transcript and proof of enrollment
- Provide current enrollment verification to the Mary Hill Davis Administrative Office by April 15th for scholarship funds to be disbursed
- Wait for notification of your scholarship status, which applicants should receive by June 15
