The Mary Murphy Scholarship was established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Century City Alumnae Chapter in 1985. This scholarship is designed to provide financial support to women pursuing graduate and professional degrees, especially in the fields where African American women are underrepresented. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or residents with a minimum 2.75 GPA (or a 2.06 GPA on a 3.0 scale).
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a public service sorority which was founded in 1913 by 22 collegiate women at Howard University, in Washington, DC. The Century City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, is committed to upholding the commitment to education in the greater Los Angeles community. As one of our major public service programs, we have established scholarships to enable qualified applicants to continue their education.
