Scholarship Description

Melmed Law Group offers an annual scholarship to one college student in February of each year. Students must submit a 500-1,00 word essay on the topic of how they were impacted by an issue of workplace fairness. You can be creative: this can be a reaction to a news story, a personal anecdote, or anything else. What does workplace fairness mean to you in the context of a larger social and economic structure?

Scholarship Details

  • One-time award of $5,000
  • Funds disbursed directly to the student’s university or college
  • Submission period: January 1 – February 15 each year
  • Winner notified by email at the end of February

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be a law student or have completed at least one year of college/university and be currently enrolled

Application Process

  1. Write a 500–1,000 word essay addressing how you have been impacted by an issue of workplace fairness
  2. Discuss what workplace fairness means to you in the context of broader social and economic structures
  3. Prepare the following application materials:

    • Proof of enrollment at a college or university
    • Unofficial transcript
    • PDF copy of your essay response
  4. Email all required documents between January 1 and February 15
  5. Await notification of award decision at the end of February

Our Collegiate Scholarship Award is a one-time, monetary scholarship award that is to be used for academic purposes. You can use it to pay for school tuition, room-and-board, or other school-related expenses.
