Scholarship Description

To apply for a Minnesota Masonic Charities Scholarship, one must: be a U.S. Citizen, be a graduate of or graduating from a Minnesota high school or home school, and meet the criteria requirements of an individual scholarship. A Masonic affiliation or membership in a Masonic organization is not a requirement. Only one application may be submitted, for one level of scholarship within the portfolio, for a given scholarship year. Scholarship awards are announced by May 1 each year.

To apply for a Heritage-level scholarship, a student must have an unweighted GPA of 3.00–3.59, an ACT Composite score of 21 or higher, and must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a four-year college or university. Besides completing the application, applicants must also: complete an essay of 300 words or less; two letters of recommendation (one from a current teacher, one from coach, organization advisor or community leader); a transcript (must include grades for first semester of senior year); and a resume (include information regarding activities, awards/honors, leadership, community service and any work experience). The Heritage Scholarship may be renewable up to three additional years if specific eligibility criteria are met.
