The Myrna Holmquist Communications Scholarship is established for individuals who have a career interest in the Communications field and have a sincere desire to apply their knowledge and leadership abilities to a career within the field of Communications. It was named in honor of the City's long-time Communications and Marketing Manager, Myrna Holmquist.
Scholarship Details
- Up to $10,000 in scholarship funding available
- Open to high school seniors and current college students
- Must be a resident of Buena Park, California
- Recipients recognized at a Buena Park City Council meeting
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a high school senior accepted to or enrolling in an accredited college or university, or a current college student
- Must be a legal resident of Buena Park, California
- Recommended minimum GPA of 2.75
- Must be majoring in a communications-related field
- Should demonstrate leadership, service, and clear career goals
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form.
- Submit official transcripts, including SAT/ACT scores if applicable.
- Ensure college freshmen and sophomores also include high school transcripts.
- Provide all required supporting materials listed in the application checklist.
- Participate in an interview if selected as a semi-finalist.
- Application deadline is April 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
