In order to be eligible for the Myrta E Otterdale Memorial Scholarship, a student must at least: have successfully completed their first-year medical school curriculum; be a resident of Oregon, with preference given to residents of Jackson County; be in good academic standing; and provide a timely-completed Otterdale Memorial Scholarship Application and corresponding documentation.
This scholarship is an annual award. Students must reapply in subsequent years. Award amounts differ from year to year ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the total amount available for distribution and the number of qualified applicants. Consideration will be based on the need for financial assistance, as well as motivation
and commitment to medicine. Besides completing the application, applicants must also submit: transcripts from medical school; three Letters of Recommendations; one Page Personal Statement; and the front page of both the applicant and their parents’ most recent IRS Form 1040.
