The Myrta E. Otterdale Memorial Scholarship supports medical students from Oregon who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a strong commitment to careers in medicine.
Scholarship Details
- Annual medical school scholarship for Oregon residents
- Preference given to residents of Jackson County
- Open to students pursuing MD, DO, MD/PhD, DNP, PA, and NP degrees
- Based on financial need, academic performance, and commitment to medicine
- Students must reapply each year for consideration
- No discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, age, or creed
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a resident of Oregon (with preference for Jackson County residents)
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be enrolled in an accredited program awarding one of the following degrees: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine and Philosophy, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or master’s programs leading to PA or NP careers
- Must submit a timely and complete Otterdale Memorial Scholarship Application with required documentation
Application Process
- Confirm eligibility based on residency, academic standing, and program of study
- Complete the Otterdale Memorial Scholarship Application form
- Prepare and submit all required documentation as instructed
- Demonstrate financial need and commitment to a medical career in the application
- Submit the completed application before the deadline for consideration
Consideration will be based on motivation and commitment to medicine, as well as needed financial assistance. The Scholarship Committee will evaluate each application based on the merit, and award annual scholarships accordingly.
