Each season, the Nashville Sounds Foundation awards scholarships to four deserving Nashville or Middle Tennessee graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college in the fall. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. All candidates must include the following to be considered for a scholarship: Submit a 250-or-less word essay explaining how diversity and inclusion will impact their time at college, at least two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or coach, and official high school transcripts.
The scholarships will be awarded based on the culmination of the student's schoolwork, extracurricular activities, involvement in the community, and letters of recommendation. Student applicants must be able to demonstrate the value of education, a good work ethic, and community outreach. There will be no discrimination regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation. The Selection Committee will not base its decisions in any way on the employment status of an applicant or the employment status of the applicant's parents/guardians.
