Scholarship Description

The National ACO Scholarships, Inc. originated as a project of The National Association of Commissioned Officers, NOAA. Its original purpose was to assist students of the NOAA family in funding their higher education goals.

Scholarship Details

  • Supports students pursuing undergraduate degrees and higher education goals
  • Promotes leadership, public service, and educational advancement
  • Preference is given to applicants affiliated with the NOAA Corps or OMAO Professional Mariners
  • Scholarship awards are typically between $1,000 and $3,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Must have a high school diploma or be expecting to graduate soon
  • Must have applied or been accepted to an institution of higher learning
  • Applicants with NOAA Corps affiliation or sponsorship receive preference but it is not required
  • Must demonstrate scholastic aptitude and accomplishments in and out of school
  • Must demonstrate financial need

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application through the official Google Form for the current scholarship year
  2. Submit your application during the open period, usually beginning in late January
  3. Ensure all required information and materials are included before the deadline of April 15th
  4. Award recipients are notified shortly after the review process
