The Northern California Chapter of the AVS (NCCAVS) offers a $5,000 annual scholarship to students pursuing studies in areas related to the AVS’s mission, including chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and engineering. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the student maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA and remains in good standing. The recipient will also receive a complimentary AVS student membership and is expected to participate in NCCAVS events.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a 4-year college or university within the geographic bounds of the NCCAVS (California zip codes 93700–96099 and Nevada)
- Must have a declared major in a field relevant to the AVS
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

- Prepare a one-page statement of purpose describing your career interests and how they align with the AVS’s mission.
- Obtain one letter of recommendation from someone who can assess your potential in an AVS-related field. (The letter may be sent separately by the reference.)
- Submit an unofficial academic transcript, including course titles if not listed on the transcript.
- Submit the complete application by email to [email protected] no later than April 21, 2025.
- If selected, provide an official transcript prior to the award being issued.
