Applicants for the Women's Empowerment Scholarship must be re-entering or continuing school in order to learn a marketable skill that will lead to economic self-sufficiency. The applicant must identify as a woman and be 25 years of age or older. In order to apply students, must: be currently be enrolled or accepted in Fall and planning to attend next Spring; and live and attend school in Los Angeles County; and meet the application requirements.
A variety of scholarships are available every Fall and Spring term. Students can apply to up to two scholarships and re-apply every semester. Funding is distributed directly to the schools on the following school term. Funds are paid in full and are not fee-specific. Students in their last term are not eligible to apply. The Student Aid Report is no longer required to demonstrate financial need. Financial need will be determined based on the essay. The scholarship application cycle runs twice a year in the Spring and Fall, so deadlines will vary.
