Scholarship Description

The NDS Klussendorf/McKown Scholarship supports college students preparing for careers in the dairy industry through studies in dairy science, animal science, agri-business, and related fields. Applicants from all dairy breeds are encouraged to apply, with special consideration given to past, present, or potential dairy cattle judging team members.

Scholarship Details

  • Multiple scholarships of $1,500 are offered
  • Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Dairy Shrine Awards Banquet
  • Applications and transcripts are accepted from March 1st through April 15th

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be in the first, second, or third year at a two-year or four-year college or university
  • Must attend a college or university in the United States or Canada
  • Must major in dairy science, animal science, agri-business, or another related field that develops skills for a career in the dairy industry
  • Must demonstrate leadership and participation in extracurricular activities
  • Must show a special interest and ability in showing dairy cattle in their best natural form
  • Applicants with experience or potential involvement in dairy cattle judging teams may receive special consideration

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application with the requested information
  2. Obtain an official transcript showing all college courses and grades
  3. Mail the official transcript to the Dairy Shrine Executive Director for review
  4. Submit the completed application and transcript by the deadline at midnight CST
