Scholarship Description

The NDS Student Recognition Award for Seniors recognizes graduating four-year college seniors who plan to pursue careers related to the dairy industry. Recipients will also be recognized at the Dairy Shrine Awards Banquet.

Scholarship Details

  • The top student will receive $2,500
  • The second-place student will receive $2,000
  • Additional scholarships of $1,500 may be awarded
  • The total number of awards depends on the number and quality of applications and available funding
  • A student may receive this award only once
  • Applications, letters of recommendation, and transcripts are accepted from March 1st through April 15th

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a graduating four-year college senior
  • Must be planning a career related to the dairy industry
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills
  • Must demonstrate academic ability
  • Must have an interest in dairy cattle
  • May pursue careers in areas such as production agriculture, manufacturing, marketing, agricultural law, business, communications, veterinary medicine, research, or environmental sciences

Application Process

  1. Review all scholarship requirements and application instructions
  2. Request one letter of recommendation from a department chair or faculty member who is familiar with your activities and academic achievements
  3. Submit an official transcript showing all college courses to be viewed only by the Dairy Shrine Executive Director
  4. Ensure the application, letter of recommendation, and transcript are submitted by the application deadline

The Student Recognition Award offers valuable financial support for students preparing to build careers in the dairy industry. Students who have demonstrated strong academics, leadership, and an interest in dairy cattle are encouraged to apply.
