Scholarship Description

The NDSU Honors College awards 30 competitive scholarships to exceptional first-year college students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, curiosity, and a desire to engage fully in the Honors experience.

Scholarship Details

  • Thirty scholarships are awarded each year
  • Recipients may receive up to $100,000 over four years
  • The maximum scholarship amount is $25,000 per year
  • Recipients receive guaranteed housing in Pavek Hall
  • Recipients participate in honors coursework and Honors College opportunities
  • Selection is based on academic record, involvement, leadership potential, essay, interview, and fit with the Honors College community

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be an incoming first-year college student
  • Must apply and be admitted to North Dakota State University
  • Must demonstrate strong academic achievement
  • Must demonstrate leadership potential and involvement
  • Should demonstrate curiosity and an interest in engaging fully in the Honors College experience
  • Must complete the Honors College scholarship application requirements

Application Process

  1. Complete the Honors College interest form.
  2. Follow the link provided after submitting the interest form to complete the free application to North Dakota State University.
  3. After admission to NDSU, access the scholarship portal using the information provided by the university.
  4. Complete the required questions and essay component in the scholarship portal.
  5. Submit the Honors College application through the scholarship portal.
  6. If selected as a finalist, participate in a virtual interview with Honors College faculty and staff.

Finalists will be invited to virtually interview with Honors College faculty and staff. Scholarship recipients are selected through a holistic review of their academic record, involvement, leadership potential, essay, interview, and fit with the Honors College community.
