The New England Society in the City of New York (NES) awards scholarships each year to deserving New York City high school students who will be attending a college or university in New England.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarships of up to $25,000 per student over four years
- Funds are sent directly to the recipient’s college or university
- Designed to reduce student loan liability
- Scholarships supplement, but do not displace, other grants or financial aid packages
Eligibility Criteria
- Be an incoming freshman to an eligible New England college or university (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont)
- Reside and attend high school in one of the five boroughs of New York City
- Demonstrate financial need
- Must not be attending a school that meets full demonstrated financial need without loans
Application Process
- Access the application portal, which is open for the current year
- Submit the completed application by June 26
- Wait for finalist notification by the end of July
- Participate in a personal interview if selected as a finalist
- Receive the final decision in early August
