The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy created Nuclear Energy University Program (NEUP) in 2009 to consolidate its university support under one program. Scholarship Details

  • Trade School and Community College Scholarship provides $5,000 for students training as nuclear energy related technicians
  • Four year College or University Undergraduate Scholarship provides $10,000 for students pursuing nuclear energy related degrees
  • Awards intended to support tuition and additional academic year expenses
  • Program is part of the University Nuclear Leadership Program

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be an undergraduate student attending a two year or four year institution
  • Applicant must be pursuing a nuclear energy related degree or technical training
  • Applicants may apply even if their institution is not yet UNLP approved
  • Institutions with selected students must become UNLP approved before funds are transferred

Application Process

  1. Create an account or log in at proposals.inl.gov
  2. Complete the scholarship application for the appropriate program
  3. Applications due January 16th at 5 p.m. ET

Students can apply without their institutions being UNLP-approved.
