Scholarship Details
- Annual $2,000 scholarship awarded by New Jersey Brain and Spine (NJBS)
- Open to students pursuing careers in healthcare-related fields
- Applications open October 3rd and close April 10th
Eligibility Criteria
- High school senior or current undergraduate student
- Resident of New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania
- Must intend to pursue a degree in a healthcare-related field
Application Process
- Complete the official NJBS Healthcare Scholarship application form, including contact details, school information, and intended field of study
- Write an original 500–750 word essay responding to the prompt: What do you see as one of the biggest challenges in healthcare today, and how do you hope to address it in your career to improve patient care?
- Attach proof of enrollment such as an unofficial transcript, acceptance letter, or current class schedule
- Winner will be announced in May
Applications will be reviewed by a committee of NJBS physicians and administrators. Essays will be evaluated based on relevance to the prompt, originality, commitment to a healthcare career, and clarity of writing. The recipient will be selected based on overall strength of application and alignment with NJBS’s mission of advancing healthcare through exceptional patient care.
