Scholarship Description

Scholarships and grants are types of financial aid you don’t have to pay back. NYU offers or recognizes many scholarship options, including programs for new students, current NYU undergraduates, and scholarships from outside sources. The AnBryce Scholarship is awarded to academically-motivated students who demonstrate financial need and who are the first generation in their family to attend college. The award will cover up to the cost of tuition and is renewable over four years of undergraduate study at NYU. Students are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 and must remain active in program activities. The number of awards and the maximum dollar amounts will vary.

The AnBryce Scholarship Program offers full-tuition funding and support to incoming NYU Law students who are among the first in their immediate family to pursue a graduate or professional degree and have proven themselves to be leaders in the face of challenging social and economic circumstances. Founded in 1998 by Anthony and Beatrice Welters, the AnBryce Scholarship Program is more than just a financial scholarship, it is a tight-knit community dedicated to helping students achieve personal and professional success. It offers mentoring, networking opportunities, and career support. The Welters, who are actively involved in the lives of the AnBryce Scholars both during and after law school, understand how challenging the law school experience can be for a first-generation student—Mr. Welters ’77 was the first in his family to graduate college and pursue a graduate degree.
