In honor of the Lenape people and their lands on which New York University was founded, the Lenape Scholarship will be awarded to incoming first-year Native American students who are engaged with their culture and communities. While preference will be given to Lenape applicants, all Native American first-year applicants are eligible for consideration. Lenape Scholars do not need to be enrolled citizens in their tribal nations, but finalists will be asked to submit a supplemental essay to demonstrate their engagement with their heritage. The number of awards offered will vary, and this can cover full-tuition.
