The NFP’s Scholarship Applications open January 1 and close March 31. All applicants must be accepted/enrolled in an accredited nursing school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Established in the memory of Department Commander Jack E. Barger, Sr., this scholarship has benefited more than 110 students, including active duty service members and veterans. Applicants must be an active duty service member, U.S. Veteran or the child or spouse of a veteran or active duty service member. All applicants must be a resident of Pennsylvania who is an undergraduate student and must attend the local VFW district meeting to accept the award.
