Scholarship Description

The North Valley Health Education Foundation (NVHEF) provides scholarships to students pursuing healthcare careers who are committed to serving Northern California communities. Our focus is on strengthening the regional healthcare workforce by supporting students in medical, nursing, and allied health programs.

Scholarship Details

  • Annual scholarship awards total between $20,000 and $30,000
  • Supports students enrolled in accredited healthcare and medical related programs
  • Focus on strengthening the healthcare workforce in Northern California’s North Valley
  • Open to students at community colleges, four year universities, and graduate programs
  • Applications open January 1 each year
  • Interviews for most scholarships are scheduled in mid to late May

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be pursuing a degree or certification in a healthcare or medical related field
  • Fields may include nursing, medicine, paramedicine, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant programs, dietetics and nutrition, pharmacy, and other allied health disciplines
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited program
  • Students studying outside the region must demonstrate a clear intention to return to practice in Northern California’s North Valley
  • Students connected to Butte College, California State University Chico, University of California Davis, or Enloe Medical Center may be eligible
  • Students from other accredited institutions may also qualify

Application Process

  1. Create an online account or log in to the scholarship platform
  2. Review the Checklist of Required Materials before beginning the application
  3. View available scholarships and start or continue your application
  4. Upload and submit all required materials through the online system
  5. Log back into your account at any time to save and manage your application
  6. Participate in an interview in mid to late May if selected

Each year, NVHEF awards $20,000–$30,000 in healthcare scholarships to students enrolled in accredited programs who demonstrate academic commitment, community connection, and a passion for healthcare service.
