The Organization of Latino Actuaries (OLA) furthers its mission of increasing the number of Latine actuaries by awarding academic scholarships to Latines who will be attending a US college/university next school year and are interested in the actuarial profession.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarship funds are disbursed directly to the recipient's school.
- Finalists for named scholarships must participate in an interview.
- No interview requirement for general scholarship finalists.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must identify as Latino.
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in a U.S. college or university for the upcoming academic year.
- Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in the actuarial profession.
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form (available through the OLA website).
- Submit all required materials, showcasing academic performance, leadership, and actuarial career interest.
- Selected finalists will be notified by mid-June.
- Named scholarship finalists will participate in an interview.
- Scholarships are awarded, and funds are sent directly to the recipient's school.
$7,500 is awarded to one Cresta scholarship winner. Named scholarship winners are awarded $5,000 and general scholarship winners are awarded up to $4,000.
