Scholarship Description

The Outer Banks Community Foundation is proud to be the largest and most diverse scholarship provider in their community. They currently administer numerous scholarship funds, mostly for graduating high school seniors from Dare County and nearby counties. Some of our scholarships are also available to adult continuing education students. One application is used for all scholarships; students will be matched with applicable scholarships. For need-based scholarships, students must complete the FAFSA. Individual scholarships may have different criteria.

The Outer Banks Community Foundation was organized in 1982 as a public charity to help meet local needs in Dare County and across all Outer Banks communities, from Corolla to Ocracoke Island. The Community Foundation accomplishes its mission by increasing charitable giving in the area, by managing charitable funds for individuals and agencies, and by targeting grants and scholarships toward the community’s most pressing needs and promising opportunities.
