The Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) awards $2,500 to female high school seniors with exceptional merit. A one-time $2,500 scholarship is available to women, recommended by a P.E.O. chapter, who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.

Eligibility Criteria
- Female
- High school senior
- Is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or Canada
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Planning to attend an accredited U.S. or Canada college
- Leadership, extracurricular involvement, and academic excellence
Application Process
- Participate in an interview with a local PEO chapter
- If chosen for recommendation, gather required documents, including:
- 700-word essay
- Academic transcript and record of community service
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Complete the application and submit it before the deadline, including all supplemental documents
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship (STAR) was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional women in their final year of high school to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada in the next academic year.
