Are you an IU Indianapolis undergraduate or transfer student with a passion for addressing social or economic challenges? Or a high school senior interested in making a difference in your community? The Pitch Your Passion competition offers an exciting opportunity to turn your ideas into action while competing for scholarships, including the prestigious Thomasson Scholarship.
Scholarship Details
- Two top winners will receive the Thomasson Scholarship, covering:
- Up to four years of tuition and fees
- Room and board
- Books
- A semester abroad
- Other winners will receive partial scholarships.
- The competition is held on March 7, sponsored by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUI.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current undergraduate IU Indianapolis students with fewer than 60 credits planning to major in Philanthropic Leadership.
- Transfer students planning to major in Philanthropic Leadership.
- High school seniors admitted to IU Indianapolis and planning to major in Philanthropic Leadership.
- Students double majoring in Philanthropic Leadership are also eligible.
Application Process
- Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements listed above.
- Prepare to participate in the Pitch Your Passion competition by:
- Identifying a current social, economic, or cultural challenge.
- Developing a group plan of action using a philanthropic model to create transformative change.
- Participating in a group presentation addressing the challenge.
- Submit an application that highlights your:
- Grades
- Extracurricular activities and interests
- Academic and career goals
- Complete an individual interview with a faculty and staff committee.
