The Randy D. Thrower Scholarship will be awarded to graduating senior student athletes from Queen Anne’s and Kent Island. The intent of this scholarship is to support students who desire to attend the college or trade school of their choice. Students musts be in good academic standing and must submit: an official copy of their most recent academic transcript; a letter of reference from a teacher, school administrator, or coach that the student participated with; and a short essay that explains what their future goals and plans are, as well as explain how they have either shown encouragement to others or demonstrate how they have the drive to never quit whether it be on or off the field.
The Randy D. Thrower Scholarship Foundation, Inc., was set up to honor the late Randy Drake Thrower. Randy’s passions in life were for his family, friends, sports, and health and fitness. He is remembered by most for his infectious smile and for the encouragement he showed to others. Randy’s motto was “family over everything,” and his family extended well beyond his own. Through the Randy D. Thrower Scholarship Foundation, his family would like to carry on Randy’s passions by giving back.
