The Recycling Education and Research Foundation (RERF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization associated with the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA). The Foundation’s core mission is to sponsor projects that promote public awareness, education, research, and the advancement of recycling.
Scholarship Details
- $2,500 stipend paid directly to the individual recipient
- Awarded by RERF to promote education and workforce development in the recycling industry
- Supports veterans enrolled in formal training or licensing programs
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a U.S. military veteran
- Must be enrolled in a formal training or licensing program
- Must provide documentation of veteran status (Form DD-214 with SSN redacted)
- Must provide proof of enrollment in an eligible educational program
Application Process
- Download and complete the Veteran Stipend Application and Release Form
- Submit a copy of Form DD-214 (with SSN blacked out)
- Write responses (500 words or less each) to the following:
- Your military role and how service impacted your life
- Your current educational or training program and how it supports your goals
- How the recycling industry impacts your community or broader society
- Include a personal resume
- Submit two letters of recommendation (one character, one academic/professional) dated within the past 12 months
- Include proof of enrollment (e.g., enrollment confirmation or tuition receipt)
- Submit complete application via email or postmarked mail by September 15th
If you are a veteran seeking career development in a licensed training program, this $2,500 stipend can support your educational goals. Applications accepted via email or mail; materials will not be returned. Recipients will be notified in early November.
