Through endowed scholarship funds that let students pursue their dreams in STEM-based education. With contributions from RESPEC and our employee-owners, our scholarship fund will work to open the doors for college students.
Scholarship Details
- Award amount: $3,000 per recipient
- Up to five scholarships awarded annually
- Supports students pursuing STEM degrees at accredited four-year colleges or universities
- Additional consideration for applicants from underrepresented groups in STEM
- Recipients may express interest in a paid internship with RESPEC, though it is not required or guaranteed
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. or Canadian citizen
- Minimum GPA of 3.7 for high school or 3.5 for college on a 4.0 scale
- Graduating high school senior or enrolled undergraduate student
- Enrolled in one of the following majors or related fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Geology, Geological Engineering or Earth Sciences
- Environmental Engineering
- Math
- Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mining or Mineral Resources
- Land Surveying
- Structural Engineering
- Urban Planning
- Water Resources or Hydrology
- Construction Management
Application Process
- Complete the application form available at the RESPEC Foundation website
- Submit at least two letters of recommendation:
- One from a high school teacher, administrator, or counselor
- One from a nonacademic individual familiar with your community involvement
- Provide a recent high school and/or college transcript showing your unweighted cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Submit a separate document answering the following questions:
- Biographical information
- Extracurricular activities
- Career goals, aspirations, and passions
- Definition and example of accountability
- Community impact and volunteering activities
- Teamwork experiences and its benefits
- Submit the complete application package by February 28th
