The Dakota Lions Sight and Health Scholarship supports students pursuing careers aligned with the organization’s mission of helping to restore the gifts of sight and health. Dakota Lions Sight & Health is proud to award scholarships to three students in South Dakota and three students in North Dakota. Each selected student will receive a $1,500 scholarship to support their educational pursuit in the field of sight or health.
Scholarship Details
- Six scholarships available, each valued at $1,500
- Three scholarships awarded to students in South Dakota
- Three scholarships awarded to students in North Dakota
- Open to undergraduate and graduate students
- Awards are granted annually
Eligibility Criteria
- Pursuing education in health professions, science, research, social services, philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, or related fields
- Attending a post-secondary institution in South Dakota or North Dakota
- Demonstrates academic achievement, financial need, and community involvement
- Interest in advancing the mission of restoring sight and health
Application Process
- Submit an application between January 1st and April 30th
- Provide documentation of enrollment and field of study
- Include academic records and evidence of community service activities
- Finalists may be evaluated on additional factors such as prior applications or awards
Applications are accepted from January 1st through April 30th each year. Recipients are selected in May, with awards distributed in June. All scholarship applicants must be pursuing an education in a field related to our mission: helping to enable the restoration of the gifts of sight & health.
