Scholarship Description

The ROB Foundation Scholarship supports students who have experienced the profound loss of a parent or primary legal guardian and are pursuing higher education at a college, university, or trade school. The foundation aims to honor those we have lost, overcome adversity, and build a brighter future. Up to ten $2,500 awards will be granted to students who meet the criteria and whose essays reflect the foundation’s mission. Applications are accepted from March 1 through April 30th

Scholarship Details

  • Awards up to ten scholarships of $2,500 each.
  • Supports students who have lost a parent or primary legal guardian.
  • Open to students attending a college, university, or trade school.
  • Application period runs from March 1st to April 30th .
  • Award notifications will be sent in late May to early June.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a current high school senior or enrolled in a college, university, or trade school with at least one full academic year remaining.
  • Must have at least one deceased parent or primary legal guardian, with proof of death required in the application.
  • Must be a resident of North Carolina or South Carolina. If already in college, a parent or legal guardian must still reside in one of these states.
  • Must submit a Student Reflection essay and one Letter of Recommendation.

Application Process

  1. Complete the online scholarship application form.
  2. Upload proof of the death of a parent or primary legal guardian, such as a death certificate, obituary, newspaper article, or online obituary.
  3. Submit a Student Reflection essay that demonstrates resilience and future aspirations.
  4. Provide one Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader.
