The ROB Foundation Scholarship is dedicated to supporting students who have faced the significant challenge of losing a parent or guardian and are pursuing higher education. Offering up to five $1,000 awards, this scholarship is available to high school seniors or current college/university/trade school students who embody the foundation's ethos: Remember, Overcome, and Build. It recognizes the resilience and determination of students who are striving to create a brighter future despite their loss.
Scholarship Details
- Five $1,000 scholarships available
- For students who have lost a parent or guardian
- Aimed at those attending college, university, or trade school
Eligibility Criteria
- High school senior or current college/university/trade school student with at least one full academic year remaining
- One deceased parent or primary guardian
- Residency in specific counties of North Carolina and South Carolina
Application Process
- Write a 500-word essay reflecting on how the loss has inspired new goals and a path forward
- Attach one letter of recommendation detailing character and potential
- Complete and submit the application form with all required documents by April 30th at 11:59 p.m. ET
One letter of recommendation is required. This letter should detail your character, fortitude, and ability to build a bright future. This can be written by a teacher, coach, academic advisor, employer, or other non-parent/guardian adult who can comfortably speak to your strengths as an individual. The letter should be no more than two pages in length.
