The Borrego Micro Scholarship, offered by Roman and Jennifer Borrego, is designed to support current or former foster youth as they embark on their college journey.
Scholarship Details
- Award Amount: $300 per semester (fall and spring)
- Total Recipients: Two per year
- Usage: School fees, books, or supplies
- Disbursement: Funds are released after the census date with enrollment verification
- Purpose: To support foster youth in their pursuit of higher education
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently or formerly in foster care
- Must be an incoming college freshman
- Must be accepted into an accredited college or university
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA to remain eligible for the spring portion
Application Process
- Submit a completed application form
- Write and submit a 500-750 word essay on resilience
- Submit proof of foster care status and college acceptance
- Ensure the application is submitted by June 20th
