Scholarship Description

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars Program provides scholarships of up to $10,000 for high school seniors in Ventura County, California who provide service to Ventura County as student leaders.

Scholarship Details

  • The application includes an essay; semifinalists must submit additional application materials upon selection.
  • Applicants are judged based on merit, public service, and leadership experience.
  • The Foundation publishes informational videos on their website to assist students in their applications.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be high school seniors in Ventura County, California. Home-schoolers are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
  • Applicants must attend undergraduate study within an academic year of their high school graduation.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate strong leadership skills to apply.

Application Process

  1. Gather required documents and information, including:
    • Personal educational information and family history
    • A record of your involvement in extracurriculars, community service, and paid work
    • An essay about your leadership experiences
  2. Complete and submit your application ahead of the deadline.
  3. If chosen as a semifinalist, submit additional application materials, including:
    • Your high school transcript
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • A short video
