Scholarships are subject to specific renewal and eligibility criteria from year to year. It is your obligation to review, understand and meet the renewal and eligibility criteria standards associated with your merit-based scholarship award(s). Your Presidential Scholarship is contingent upon your participation and residence in the Honors College for your first year of enrollment.
Scholarship Details
- Merit-based scholarship for students enrolled in the Honors College at Rutgers
- Includes room and board allowance for first two years (on-campus); usable on or off campus in years three and four
- Guaranteed on-campus housing for four years for the scholarship recipient
- Honors College participation and first-year residence required
- Room and board guarantee does not extend to roommates, suitemates, or housemates
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 degree credits per semester)
- Must complete at least 24 degree credits each academic year
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher annually
- Must participate in and reside in the Honors College during the first year
- Must follow all procedures outlined by the Honors College, including additional confirmation forms if required
Application Process
- Apply and gain admission to Rutgers University and the Honors College
- Confirm participation in the Honors College by completing all required documentation
- Enroll in at least 12 degree credits per semester and maintain eligibility requirements
- Reside in the Honors College residence for your first year
- Monitor your GPA and completed credit hours annually to ensure scholarship renewal
Presidential Scholars are guaranteed on-campus housing for four years. This guarantee applies only to the individual Presidential Scholar, not to a roommate, suitemate or housemate.
