National Medical Fellowships (NMF) provides scholarships that support high-achieving students who demonstrate strong academic performance and a passion for science.
Scholarship Details
- Supports students pursuing medical education through a variety of scholarship programs
- Scholarships recognize both academic achievement and demonstrated financial need
- Funded through partnerships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors
- Applicants are automatically matched with all eligible scholarship opportunities after completing the NMF eligibility process
- Additional scholarship opportunities are available through NMF partnerships, including programs supported by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must create a National Medical Fellowships account and complete the online eligibility form
- Must have been enrolled in or graduated from a US high school
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Grade of B+ or higher in all science and math courses
- Applicants are generally enrolled in an eligible U.S. medical education program
- Many scholarships consider demonstrated financial need and academic merit
- Additional eligibility requirements vary by scholarship opportunity

- Complete the required eligibility questionnaire.
- Review the scholarship opportunities that automatically appear based on your eligibility.
- Complete and submit the required application materials for each scholarship of interest.
- Upload any requested academic, financial, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor your account and email for scholarship updates and award notifications.
National Medical Fellowships is committed to helping future physicians overcome financial barriers to medical education. Funds will be disbursed by check directly to the student or, for recipients who are minors, to a parent or legal guardian, on or before September 7th.
