The recipient of the Shannon O'Daniel Memorial Scholarship should be a student who has shown courage in dealing with epilepsy and seizure, commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles that epilepsy and seizures may present. Applicants must be currently undergoing treatment for epilepsy or seizures, are entering college as freshmen in the fall of the year the award is offered, and live in Kentucky or eligible counties in Indiana.
Applicant must be: currently under a physician's care for epilepsy/seizures (i.e. neurological seizures); currently undergoing treatment and/or taking anticonvulsant medication(s); able to demonstrate their struggle to overcome adversity because of their epilepsy/seizures; a college freshman entering their fall semester; and currently living in Kentucky or specific counties in Indiana.
